The Challenge
A previously installed AC motor failed, creating an urgent need for replacement. However, this wasn’t a simple swap:
- The motor needed higher capacity to improve reliability
- The frame size had to remain close to the original to avoid major machine-room modifications
- Downtime needed to be kept to a minimum during the ski season
Engineering changes or long lead times were not an option.

Working closely with the application requirements, the decision was made to upsize the motor while keeping the frame dimensions as close as possible to the existing footprint.
